Dr. David Skolnik, PT, DPT | A different perspective and setting up shop in a setting that makes sense for you

Dr. David Skolnik, PT, DPT is a board-licensed physical therapist specializing in orthopedic physical therapy. He received his doctorate from the University of Puget Sound. David also holds his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of Puget Sound. David is a Master Instructor with the Pain Free Performance Specialist Certification (PPSC), often traveling around the western United States teaching weekend courses to fellow Physical Therapists and Personal Trainers. David is Certified in Dry Needling through the American Academy of Manual Therapy and also holds designations as a Certified Pain Free Performance Specialist and Clinical Athlete Certified Powerlifting Coach. David's areas of expertise include movement and biomechanical analysis, injury prevention, training with injury, return to sport, and sports performance training.

As a clinician, David believes that successful treatment starts with patient empowerment and patient empowerment begins with education. Education gives each patient the knowledge to reduce fear of pain and injury. Human beings are miraculous healing machines if we only allow them to do what they were designed to, and this starts with encouraging movement early and often. David sees this as the ultimate role of Physical Therapy - putting each and every patient in a position to truly heal themselves through movement and it's why the idea of "Exercise is Medicine" has been his guiding light since he was first exposed to the concept in 2009. In the clinic, David uses tools like dry needling, soft tissue massage and joint mobilization to create opportunities for more pain free movement and promotes strength training as early as possible in every rehab process.

When David is not in the clinic you can usually find him in the gym, where he is either training clients, coaching Powerlifting athletes, lifting barbells or swinging kettlebells. David also loves spending quality time with his wife, Rebecca and their dog Slater, whether that means exploring Arizona together or lounging on the couch watching a movie.
