In this episode of The Remnant Radio, we are talking about the Greek Philosophy Plato! Plato had an incalculable impact on western thought, but how much impact should he have on the Christian faith? Many claim that platonic philosophy was responsible for cult groups like the gnostics, because of these accusations many more have chosen to write off many of the early church fathers altogether. Why? Well, It appears that they too were infected with this platonic philosophy. But was platonic philosophy inherently evil and anti-christian, or was platonic philosophy one of the necessary preconditions that prepared for the appearance of Christ?
In this highly requested theology podcast, we will be interviewing Dr. Louis Markos who is quite the expert on all things Plato. Dr. Markos has published a book with IVP called "From Plato to Christ: How Platonic Thought Shaped the Christian Faith" which is quite insightful both for the negative and positive byproducts of platonic philosophy within the Christian faith.
