John starts off by tipping his cap to Marcus Freeman and the red-hot fighting Irish before GOING OFF on Penn State quarterback Drew Allar for his poor play against a locked-in defensive unit. Next, Middlekauff tees off on James Franklin’s poor halftime adjustments and blasts Penn State for being unable to win the big game despite having more talent on the field than the banged-up Fighting Irish and explains why he wouldn’t blame the Tennessee Titans for taking star pass rusher Abdul Carter No. 1 overall in April’s NFL Draft. Then, John looks ahead to Notre Dame’s potential path to hoisting the National Championship trophy, and explains why this iteration of Notre Dame is more successful than any team under former Irish head coach, and former LSU head coach, Brian Kelly’s tenure. After, John wonders if Penn State’s title window is closing and suggests that it will only get more difficult for the Nittany Lions to win it all as the College Football Playoff grow.
