Starting January 1, 2019, Alimony settlements and awards will no longer be tax deductible.  This has the potential to make an huge impact on Alimony.  The ability to deduct alimony payments was very helpful to settling divorce cases, but that negotiation tool has now been removed by the recent tax law changes.  How will it impact a Court's awards at trial?  Will it mean that there will be smaller awards of alimony?  We explore these questions and more in this show.
