Dr. Marilyn George is Executive Vice President of the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association for Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC), a position she has held since 1987. Dr. George has been involved in all aspects of school accreditation and recently partnered with ACS WASC President Dr. Barry Groves on a new book titled “Connecting the Dots of Accreditation: Leadership, Coherence, and Continuous Improvement.” This episode includes a wide range of topics relating to schools, school improvement, the history of school accreditation in the US and globally, the importance of focusing on the needs of students, and Dr. George tells the story of why WASC could just as soon stand for “We Are Student Centered.”
