The Struggles of Jean and Claude

Jean and Claude, two hard-working yam farmers, face significant financial struggles as their crops yield barely enough for sustenance, let alone profit. Despite their efforts, each year leaves them with dwindling supplies and little income, leading to worry about their future. As the harvest season approaches, they hope to sell what little they have at the market, but are dashed by the unexpected disappearance of their horse, crucial for transporting their goods. With limited options in the countryside, they reluctantly decide to turn to their wealthy neighbor, Pierre, who is infamous for his stinginess.
