That figure’s from the United States Election Assistance Commission, which keeps track not only of our votes, but the votes we throw away, the votes we don't count. Other nations would be flabbergasted to learn that we literally throw away millions of ballots, but they're not of any color. It’s 900% more likely that your vote will be disqualified if you're black than if you're white.
