Deep in the Lower East Side, you will find New York City's own Temple Of Beauty, AKA Aedes Perfumery. The artisanal fragrance boutique has carried some of Europe's most elite brands under one roof since 1995. We talk to co-founder Robert Gerstner, who along with his co-founder Karl Bradl, opened one of New York City's most unique fragrance boutiques, which brings some of Europe's best artisanal scents to the states. Gerstner shares some fragrance-shopping insight, like why the coffee bean smell-reset thing is bullshit, what you should actually smell to neutralize your nose when testing lots of fragrances, and why you should get over fragrance shopping intimidation.
