Steve Denyer talks to former politician and social activist Carl Austin Behan OBE as he picks the tracks that mean the most to his LGBTQ+ journey.
Carl was discharged from the RAF in 1997 at a time when it was illegal to be openly gay in the military. He has since gone on to forge a career in politics and became Manchester’s first openly gay Lord Mayor in 2016. He now is the LGBT advisor to Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester.
