Michelle Watson Canfield, PhD, LPC, is a national speaker, author, professional counselor of 24 years, and founder of The Abba Project, a nine-month group forum for dads whose daughters are in their teens and twenties...and she's straight-up awesome!!! She writes guest articles for various online and print journals and magazines, hosts her own radio show/podcast called The Dad Whisperer, and she and her husband Dr. Ken Canfield are soon going to re-launch the Father-Daughter Summit and a Let's Talk curriculum for dads of daughters.

We had such a great time chatting today about blended families and her work with dads of daughters. Recently married for the first time, she just realized that she is part of a blended family tribe of twenty-four (24!!)! Michelle shared with us wisdom from her family and from her work, and she gave us numerous immediately practical strategies for helping build better relationships between dads and daughters. We discussed a variety of books and resources that she recommends (links below!), we shared some laughs, and she even graced us with a song at the end (in addition to everything else, she has a great voice and has been a worship leader for years). Michelle has written two books that are specifically aimed at helping improve communication and connectedness between fathers and daughters, and they're both going on my Christmas list!
