Interviews with: Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono, GOP Presidential Candidate Will Hurd, and Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman

First, Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii joins Jake to discuss what she witnessed after touring the wildfire devastation on Maui. Jake asks Sen. Hirono whether the federal response to the Maui fires is enough and gets her reaction to officials saying none of the 80 warning sirens on Maui were ever activated. To wrap-up, Jake asks Hirono if she thinks President Biden should declare a climate emergency.

Next, Jake interviews GOP presidential candidate Will Hurd, who reacts to Georgia prosecutors obtaining messages showing Trump’s team was behind a 2021 voting systems breach. Jake then asks Hurd if he thinks he’ll achieve the polling and donor thresholds he needs to qualify for the debate and what his refusal to sign the RNC debate pledge means for the future of his campaign. To close, Jake asks if Hurd supports Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's policy of bussing migrants to Democratic-run cities.

After, Jake speaks with Democratic House Oversight Committee member Rep. Dan Goldman about Attorney General Garland's decision to appoint a special counsel in the DOJ’s Hunter Biden probe. Jake asks Goldman if President Biden displayed a lapse of judgement with how he responded to his son's controversial business dealings. Finally, our panel discusses rivals Trump and DeSantis taking their campaign fight to the Iowa State Fair, Trump’s expected announcement on whether he’ll join the first Republican debate, and the political fallout from the Hunter Biden investigation.
