Mason shared how his interest in cybersecurity started very early as something innate, but then he combined that with some self-teaching, learning from others, and getting certifications. He shared the origins of his enthusiasm for the Linux operating system, and how he learned how to use it to get into Active Directory. In addition to that, his ability to knock on doors and apply to different jobs and roles led him to start his own company, Better Safe Infosec, which specializes in penetration testing, regular network security checkups, and so on. He also shared his thoughts on the value of education and experience so far in his 23 years of working in cybersecurity, how he motivates himself, what his typical workday looks like, what he likes to do outside of work, his advice for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the cybersecurity, and lots more.
