Recently I had the opportunity to sit down with Sean Smith to discuss his voyage’s impact on the the coaching development program at Louisville. The mentorship program at Louisville is all encompassing for the young coaches, bringing them to the field, the coaches offices, and to meet with sports med, sports psych, and senior administration so these young coaches truly understand what the day in and day outs of being a performance coach are. He shares with us the thoughts behind these meeting and how they prepare the mentees for them so that they can best communicate to those different groups. We finish off discussing his work with volleyball at U of L, and how that has evolved in his tenure with The Cards.
