Maria Davidson, the large carnivore specialist at the Safari Club International Foundation, joins Robbie to discuss tthe history of Louisiana Black bears that has led up to the point that now there is a recreational sport hunting season for bears. After 30 years spent working for LDWF on large carnivore conservation, this is a keystone moment in the career of this incredible professional and the science and why behind a black bear hunt in Louisiana. Now working for SCIF Maria is continuing her work in carnivore biology and conservation across the world.
