Despite the ongoing conflict in the region, Israeli airlines, particularly El Al, have continued to operate flights, benefiting financially from the situation. As many international airlines cancel or delay their flights due to security concerns, El Al has found itself with a near-monopoly on routes in and out of Israel, leading to a significant increase in profits. Their quarterly profit surged by nearly 150% as they filled the void left by competitors hesitant to return. The operational challenges of running an airline during wartime, however, include higher insurance premiums and vulnerability to sudden airport shutdowns.
