Lumber prices have sky rocketed recently by almost 4 times compared to what they were this time last year and with demand increasing and supplies tightening due to varying factors, it’s having a huge impact across the industry. For the average sized house build, the lumber alone is costing around $26,000 to $30,000 more than normal and lead times have been gradually increasing with many having to wait as long as 6 months.
