By the 1980s, scientists recognized that simply assembling the right components was not enough; there was also a need for the crucial information encoded in DNA that organizes these components into living organisms. This gap highlights the necessity for a deeper understanding of how information not only arises but is also effectively utilized in biological systems.
Limitations of the RNA World Hypothesis
The RNA world hypothesis suggests that life began with self-replicating RNA molecules, which could theoretically provide a bridge to the origin of information-rich life forms. However, experiments aiming to create self-replicating RNA have only succeeded in achieving partial replication when carefully arranged by knowledgeable scientists, underscoring the need for pre-existing information. This reliance on intelligent design for the arrangement of RNA sequences indicates that the RNA world hypothesis does not ultimately solve the information problem and reinforces the argument for intelligent design. The Multiverse Theory vs. Fine-Tuning

However, this idea does not eliminate the issue of fine-tuning, as the multiverse concept itself requires fine-tuning to propose any mechanism for universe generation.
