The Three Goats

Once there were three goats: the youngest, the middle child, and the eldest. They were happily eating grass in the field but soon realized there was not much grass left. The eldest goat knew of another field with plenty of grass. To reach it, they had to cross a bridge over a fast-flowing river. The youngest goat crossed the bridge first and encountered a troll who intended to eat her. However, the youngest goat convinced the troll to wait for her bigger sister, claiming she would make a better meal. The middle goat crossed next and used a similar strategy, suggesting that the eldest goat would be the ideal meal. Finally, the eldest goat crossed the bridge and recognized the troll as the one who had killed her mother. She headbutted the troll, causing him to fall into the river and drown. The three goats then happily crossed the bridge and enjoyed the grass in the new field for the rest of their lives.
