Dr. Chelsea Turgeon provided a fantastic lecture for last year's Nonclinical Summit. As I was preparing for this year's 2024 Summit in April, I thought you would genuinely appreciate hearing part of that presentation here on the podcast.

She starts by explaining how she recognized her poor fit for a career in medicine in medical school and residency. Much of it was because of her need to meet the expectations of others in her life, rather than pursuing her passions. But the longer she stayed in medicine, the more miserable she became.

What began as a 5-week leave of absence became a permanent exit from her OB/gyne residency. She goes on to describe her journey, first teaching English in South Korea, to becoming a Digital Nomad, starting her own business, and generating a six-figure income while living in 20 different countries.

She finishes her presentation by describing how she and others found meaningful work while living the most interesting and fulfilling life she could imagine.
