Mary Mother of the Church

In this podcast Fr Serafino M. Lanzetta reflects on the Marian title "Mary Mother of the Church." In order to know why Mary is the Mother of the Church we should consider first what the Church is - the mystical Body of Christ, made by all members reborn on Calvary in the Blood of Christ. Since Our Lady participated uniquely in the work of our Redemption as the new Eve, She is in a singular way the Mother generating in Her sorrows and tears each disciple of Christ. Mother of the Church because mother generating Christians to supernatural life. Mary is even more than the Church: it is the prefiguration by Her virgnity and divine maternity, and the completion with Her Assumption body and soul into Heaven.
