Wu Yuzhuang: Taken Up

The 40th day after Easter, Jesus ascended into heaven—His final act on earth. In this sermon, Pastor Wu Yuzhuang presents three reasons why the ascension of Jesus Christ is so important: one, it marks the completion of His earthly work for us. He came from the Father, and He returned to the Father, the first time Man returned to the presence of God since Adam was banished from the Garden of Eden. Two, it signals the sending of the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived life entirely by the Holy Spirit, and after His ascension, He sent the Holy Spirit to be every Christian’s helper, to lead us as He was led. Three, it signals Christ’s continuing work through us. Jesus’ earthly work ended when He ascended, and now His work was and is to be continued through believers. As Jesus was blessing the disciples when He was taken up to heaven—that blessing is a prophetic statement for every Christian of what God will do in and through your life.
