This could very well cause a 2008 style housing market crash, something no one is expecting. If mortgage delinquencies continue to rise like John expects, this foreclosed home inventory should hit the retail market, increasing the amount of houses for sale, and ultimately driving down home prices in 2026.
This is welcoming news for homebuyers that have been priced out of the housing market due to unaffordability.
