Deep dives
Bridge Max Plus Keyboard Review
The Bridge Max Plus Keyboard has a sturdy build quality and a nice aluminum enclosure. The keyboard is backlit and has a function row, although the key travel and key quality are not as good as the Magic Keyboard. The trackpad, however, is better than the Bridge keyboard, although it's still not as good as the Apple Magic Trackpad. The best part of the keyboard is the hub in the back, which features USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and SD and microSD slots. The keyboard also has fast charging pass-through via USB-C and supports Ethernet connections. Despite its flaws, it is currently a preferable option over the Magic Keyboard.
Doko Midi Keyboard Highlights
The Doko Midi Keyboard has a solid build quality, but the keyboard quality is lacking. The keys feel flimsy and the printing is not centered on the keys. The keyboard has a function row, backlit keys, and a trackpad that is better than the Bridge keyboard, but still not as good as the Apple Magic Trackpad. The highlight of the keyboard is the hub in the back, which features USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and SD and microSD slots. However, there may be bugs with USB audio pass-through. Overall, the convenience of the hub and function row make it a preferable option to the Magic Keyboard, with the caveat that the trackpad continues to function properly and bugs are resolved.
Sony Pulse Earbuds Review
The Sony Pulse Earbuds, designed for PlayStation 5, have a unique design and function well. They can be used with different handheld devices, including the PS Portal, Steam Deck, and Nintendo Switch, each with a different connection method. The PS Portal has native PS Link support, while the Steam Deck can connect via the PS Link adapter. The earbuds provide a convenient solution for using a single set of earbuds with multiple devices.
Versatile Bluetooth Earbuds for Gaming Consoles
The podcast highlights the convenience of using Bluetooth earbuds for gaming consoles, such as the Nintendo Switch. The speaker explains how they paired their earbuds via Bluetooth to the Switch, allowing them to effortlessly switch between different gaming consoles with a single set of earbuds. They also mention testing this setup, confirming its effectiveness and sound quality for gaming. This solution eliminates the need for multiple pairs of earbuds and offers a more streamlined and efficient gaming experience.
Steam Deck OLED: Impressive Display and Customization
In the podcast, the discussion focuses on the new Steam Deck OLED and its standout features. The speaker praises the incredible display quality, stating that it enhances the gaming experience and makes games look better. They also mention the weight reduction in the OLED model, which adds to the overall comfort and portability. The podcast goes into detail about the speaker's own customized version of the Steam Deck, called the Tichi Deck, which involves attaching a slim Thunderbolt hub and multiple accessories. The customizations allow for enhanced functionalities, such as video out, connecting glasses, streaming PC games, and more, ultimately making the Steam Deck a versatile and complete portable gaming system.
