I often share the story about the first time that Whitney took another lover. I didn’t know if I should punch someone in the face, cry or vomit...repeatedly.  A lot of people can’t quite comprehend why I would put myself in that situation, wouldn’t it be easier to be monogamous? Open relationships have never been about hedonism, they are about an ideal. They are about truth and freedom. Which are both synonyms of Love. There is no greater example of this ideal than in the utopian society envisioned in The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhhawk.
