Hamilton icon Lincoln Alexander will be immortalized at Queen’s Park for his remarkable contributions by becoming the first black person to have a statue of his likeness erected at the Ontario legislature. Today’s announcement comes 55 years to the day that Linc was sworn into office as Canada’s first Black Member of Parliament, and 38 years to the day that he was sworn in as Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
