Easter at Abundant Life 2021

Revelation 1:8, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 1:18, “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”

Death and Hades are two places from which there is no escape. It is death that claims the body and Hades that claims the soul!

Romans 6:23, “The wages of sin is death…” The penalty of sin is death physically (grave) and death spiritually (Hades).

There is no escape by being a “good” person. Matthew 19:17, “No one is good but One, that is, God.”

1 John 1:8, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

There is no escape by getting “religion.” Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Jesus is God. Jesus made the escape because He is the Almighty! Revelation 1:8, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Jesus died for our sin and rose again. Jesus made the escape to redeem us from sin’s penalty. Revelation 1:18, “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”

Jesus has the keys to set us free! In Christ, we escape Death, and we escape Hades!

Jesus has the keys, and Jesus is the key to set us free from sin’s penalty so we can live eternally. John 11:25, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”
