Karlo Broussard discusses the consistency of Church teachings on sexual morality. Topics include the impact of the sexual revolution, inconsistency in Christian beliefs on sexuality, clarifying 'deviant' sexual behavior, the logic of contraception, and the logical basis of Christian beliefs on sexuality.
The rejection of the Catholic Church by many due to differences in sexual morality stems from the sexual revolution and its promotion of a recreational and individualistic view of sex.
To be logically consistent, Christians should reject contraception if they reject same-sex sexual activity and sex reassignment surgery, as they are all rooted in the same principles of undermining the reproductive meaning of our sex bodies.

Consistency in Sexual Morality
The sexual revolution has led to the rejection of the Catholic Church by many due to differences in sexual morality. The Catholic Church maintains a consistent view of sexuality rooted in the divine plan and the observation of our bodies. In contrast, secular logic often promotes a recreational and individualistic view of sex. There is a lack of consistency in various Christian groups outside of Catholicism regarding certain sexual behaviors. To be logically consistent, Christians should reject contraception if they reject same-sex sexual activity and sex reassignment surgery, as they are all rooted in the same principles.
Logic of Contraception
The logic of contraception involves the voluntary use of our sexual faculties while actively frustrating reproduction. Contraception robs our reproductive organs of their reproductive meaning and sends a message that reproductive powers and organs are not about reproduction. By undermining the purpose of our reproductive organs, contraception suggests that our sex bodies do not matter. This logic is also embedded in same-sex sexual activity, where the reproductive meaning of our sex bodies is entirely set aside. The parallel in both contraception and same-sex sexual activity lies in treating the reproductive organs as nonsexual, contradicting the natural order and undermining their significance.
Logic in Sex Reassignment Surgery
So-called sex reassignment surgery shares a logic similar to contraception and same-sex sexual activity. In both cases, the reproductive meaning of our sex bodies is dismissed. Contraception suggests that our sex bodies do not matter, and this logic is then extended to cases of so-called sex reassignment surgery. By voluntarily using reproductive powers and organs for an end contrary to reproduction, the significance of our sex bodies as male and female becomes irrelevant. The connection between contraception and sex reassignment surgery highlights the need for consistency in sexual ethics.
Karlo joins Cy to discuss whether the Church is consistent on the teaching of sexual morality.

It’s certainly not all of the story, but a great deal of it has to do with the sexual re…
