The Director of NASA Bill Nelson has just opened up UFOs as a subject that NASA scientists could pursue saying "We don't think [it's an optical phenomenon] because of the characteristics that those Navy jet pilots described ... And so the bottom line is, we want to know." 

The NASA Press Secretary said, "There's not really a lot of data and ... scientists should be free to follow these leads, and it shouldn't be stigmatized. This a really interesting phenomenon and Americans are clearly interested in it [so if] the scientists want to investigate, they should."

Usually this kind of thing requires a green light from the White House. A month ago James Fox told him that long time UFO enthusiast John Podesta was encouraging President Biden to do something inside the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy which is the same office that handled the Rockefeller Initiative inside the Clinton White House.
