Episode 505: Catherine E. Sims, LLC. Trauma Therapy As A Calling
Feb 8, 2021
31:01
Catherine is a multi-state Licensed Professional Counselor (OR, DC, NY) and private practice owner, who specializes in trauma counseling and human sexuality. In addition to her clinical work, she teaches several masters-level supervisory classes and works as an adjunct faculty member at The Family Institute of Northwestern University.
Catherine’s 10+ year career has afforded her the opportunity to develop integral clinical and administrative skills, a clear ethical code, strong cultural competency, and a supervisory style that is supportive, collaborative, and strength-based. She started her career working in social services, landed an international position (Saudi Arabia) as a Psychology Instructor, and ultimately found her way to Washington DC, where she started her practice.
Catherine strongly believes that trauma-informed care is underrepresented and that awareness and understanding need to be spread and taught.
