Are you prepared for the success you say you want? Going viral is something a lot of entrepreneurs wish for, but when it actually happens, they aren’t prepared for the potential highs and lows that come with it.

Even if you have been working for years as a pro in your industry, virality and extreme audience growth overnight can bring with it unforeseen challenges (but also opportunities!).

And speaking of virality, what if you go viral for something not directly related to your business?

Success is not linear and you have to write your own story. On this week’s episode of Beyond Influential, I sit down with Ivirlei Brookes, who has reinvented herself several times over her career and continues to evolve. She has been everything from a Hitch-style dating coach to starting her own magazine and is now a mindset coach and mentor for female creative entrepreneurs.

Ivirlei received massive attention from the media, as well as celebrities and influencers, after her emotional and informational Instagram Live video, White Women who Truly Want to Help: Here’s How, went viral in June after the murder of George Floyd. However, while this video has brought a lot of attention to her brand, her business is not built around anti-racism education. We talk about how she has focused on staying true to herself and her vision for her brand and business in the face of increased visibility.
