One of my favorite teachings by Jim Collins is that of the Stockdale Paradox.

It’s really counterintuitive, but I reread it fairly regularly because it helps ground me, especially when I feel like I’m struggling a bit. It’s a story that comes from Vietnam veteran, Admiral Jim Stockdale.
