Francesco Mazzucotelli is a Professor of Turkish and Middle Eastern History at the Universita di Pavia. He took his Ph.D from the Universita Cattolica del Sacre Muore di Milano and the American University of Beirut. He has been a journalist stationed in the Middle East and was a senate candidate in 2018 for the Liberi e Uguali party in Italy. He currently lives in Bergamo, Italy.
