Deep dives
The Importance of Church Engagement in Politics
Churches must be engaged politically to love their neighbors and uphold biblical values. Christians should not shy away from political involvement and should prioritize the well-being of their communities. The German church's silence in the face of evil serves as a warning for the American church not to repeat the same mistake. Christians must recognize that politics affect the gospel and laws that impact our ability to live out biblical principles. By getting involved politically, Christians can be the conscience of the state and work towards a more righteous society.
The Call to Stand Against Evil
Silence in the face of evil is itself complicity. Christians have a responsibility to speak out against corruption, cruelty, and injustice. Using the example of Bonhoeffer's resistance to Hitler, it is clear that inaction and indifference lead to disastrous consequences. Christians cannot remain neutral or prioritize their own comfort over standing against evil. God calls believers to love their neighbors and confront wickedness, even in controversial or political matters.
The Twisting of Compassion and Religious Justifications
Evil often manipulates compassion to further its agenda. Christians may fall into the trap of using religious justifications to remain silent or support ungodly practices. Compassion should not mean agreeing with falsehoods, but rather speaking the truth in love. Christians must recognize the perversion of compassion that allows evil to thrive and actively stand against it. Engaging politically and advocating for biblical values is an act of true compassion.
The Urgency of Church Wakefulness
The American church must wake up from its slumber and recognize the rising evil in society. Christians cannot afford to be passive or apathetic but must actively oppose wickedness. The German church's failure to act early on allowed for the subsequent horrors of Hitler's regime. The American church has a limited window of opportunity to address pressing issues such as censorship, abortion, family destruction, and corruption in government. Recognizing the urgency, Christians must advocate for truth, engage politically, and vocally defend biblical values.
Is America headed down a dark path similar to that of Nazi Germany? If history has shown us anything, it's that bad things happen when Christians don't collectively speak out against evil. The German Church of the 1930's is a great example of what NOT to do in a tumultuous time of political crisis, but has the American Church fallen into the same passive trap of doing nothing while evil slowly tightens its grip on our country?
The groundbreaking book 'Letter to the American Church' hopped off bookshelves across the country and has now become a brand-new documentary film serving as the final clarion call to sleeping Christians and conservatives. This week, the author of the best-selling book that inspired the film and popular radio host, Eric Metaxas, joins Frank to talk about the movie in detail and to expose the inevitable doom that awaits America if the Church doesn't wake up now! During the episode, Frank and Eric will answer questions like:
What are some of the similarities between 1930's Germany and the West today?
What mistakes did the Church in Germany make and what should Christians in America do differently?
Are patriotic Christians guilty of Christian Nationalism?
What should you do if your church isn't concerned about politics?
Why does Eric still maintain hope for America?
From open borders to trans ideology, mass abortions and critical race theory, there's more than enough issues that the Church MUST confront head-on while we still have the chance. As you'll hear during this episode, when people are doing evil, Christians are morally obligated to stand up just like Jesus did! How can you make a difference? Start by visiting LetterToTheAmericanChurch.com so that you can watch the film for FREE, share it, and learn how to make your voice heard during this unprecedented time in American history!
