Dr. Liz reviews the book, “Authentic Power: Give yourself permission to feel” by Ashley Bernardi. She interviewed Ashley in the previous episode, HM226: Feeling your Feelings with Ashley Bernardi. She loved the book so much that she’s doing a separate episode on the book. Dr. Liz talks about how the book is also related to her current struggles and whether food is comfort.

Ashley saw her father die in front of her as a child. As an adult, after the birth of her third child, she had a physical and mental breakdown. That time of her life led to great transformation, change, and healing. She came up with a framework to feel your feelings and published a lovely pocketbook guide for hope and healing which compiles interviews from the world's top leaders in science, wellness, health, spirituality.

The oldest child in a proud military family, Ashley was born in Schweinfurt, Germany, and has lived and worked in New York City and Washington, D.C. She currently resides in Northern Virginia with her family.
