Episode 16: I’m Not a Breakfast Eater and Other Malarkey
In this episode, you’ll hear a compassionate approach to acknowledging the malarky or “shenanigans” we let ourselves get away with. You’ll also experience a gentle verbal kick in the rear to remind you that every choice we make has corresponding consequences, good or not-so-good. A healthy parent who reminds their child that homework is a priority over video games, forgetting to take your gear to practice means there may be consequences from the coach for not being prepared, and that being part of family means doing some “not fun things like chores.” As a healthy adults who chose to have bariatric surgery, you may need a reminder that a healthy lifestyle means making exercise a priority over binge watching your favorite show, failing to make healthy food choices has consequences of unwanted weight gain, and being a healthy post-op means doing some “not fun things like exercise.” We all need the voice of fair and firm now and then! Here’s yours!
