Try not to make it too emotional, which is initially difficult
Companies never really take ownership, but they can be compassionate
Allow yourself to go through the grieving process
Decide if you still want to stay in the tech industry
Stay active in life - get up, find a routine, stay healthy, make a plan each day
Begin looking while you have financial buffers
Find something creative - build things
Stay active with your skills - volunteer, side projects, etc.

At some point, be realistic - family needs, sunk costs, titles, etc.
