Deep dives
Recognizing the Persistence of Individuality
As one delves deeper into spirituality and gains insight and vision, the normal neurotic personality doesn't disappear. Despite experiencing the transcendent nature of reality, individuality persists. This challenges the notion of simplistic spirituality that seeks to eliminate flaws and purify observations. The key is to recognize and embrace both the transcendental condition and the flawed personality.
The Full Intensity of the Present Moment
Every moment is a thousand on the scale of enlightenment, radiating presence and encompassing everything. Even amid personal difficulties, one can realize the full intensity and radiance of the present moment. The clarity and power of this awareness outweigh any struggles or flaws, ultimately revealing that one's problems and the cosmic explosion of reality are intertwined.
Recognizing Reality While Embracing the Human Experience
Spirituality is not about eradicating the human personality or seeking perfection. Rather, it's about seeing and knowing what reality truly is beyond interpretations and conditioning. The presence of a flawed and neurotic self doesn't diminish the fundamental truth that everything is and always has been radiant presence. Change and personal growth may occur organically, but they are not the goal of spirituality. The key is to recognize the inherent perfection of the present moment and embrace the simultaneous coexistence of the personal and the absolute.
Approaching Experience as a Continuum
Experience is a continuum that encompasses an infinity of dimensions and qualities. Dichotomizing experience into categories reinforces difficulties. Engaging in yoga involves looking at experience without expectation or interpretation.
Recognizing the True Nature of Everything
Reality encompasses every duality and goes beyond human concepts. Recognizing the true nature of one thing reveals the true nature of everything. The process of awakening involves understanding reality as it is, accepting and integrating all aspects of experience into wholeness.
In this enlightening yet accessible podcast, co-presenter Paul Dobson and author and nondual therapist Nic Higham explore the truth of #Nonduality. Join Paul and Nic’s real-time exploration of life beyond the illusion of separateness. They ask: ‘Who am I? What is the nature of our experience? What is self-inquiry? What is meditation?’ Inquire into the present moment and drop your false ideas. Music by Scott Buckley
