#345 - Pritam Singh lifts party whip on 377A & Balenciaga’s bondage bears scandal
At this week’s parliamentary debate on the repeal of Section 377A, the Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh lifted the party whip to allow Workers' Party MPs to vote freely on their conscience regarding the touchy subject. Reception to this action of his was mixed, with some calling it weak leadership, while others saying this is what democracy looks like. Who’s right? Elsewhere, Balenciaga has apologized for a series of bizarre campaign ads that featured images of children alongside “bondage bears”, court documents about a case involving child pornography, and a coffee table book with disturbing images of bloodied toddlers. Now they’re even suing the creative agency behind one of those ads. What’s going on in the house of Balenciaga?
