Alignment Issues in Higher Ed Governance and Governing Boards

The insertion of former politicians into higher ed executive roles has made an already highly politicized culture even more political and divisive.

The responsibilities of governing boards have grown in recent years, even though many trustees are ill-prepared when they assume their roles. A constant focus on bringing board members into alignment with the organization’s central goals can mitigate difficulties.
