At 24 years old, actor James Dean’s role in “Rebel Without a Cause” made him a superstar and an icon of teenage rebellion. But on September 30, 1955, James Dean died in a horrific car crash near Cholame in California. For more than 60 years mystery has surrounded the cause of the crash since Dean was an accomplished racing driver on a straight road in good conditions.
