Happy Day, Friends! On Episode 5 of Mindful Living with Athea Davis I interview Marissa Ford, a second grade teacher in the Houston Independent School District. We talk about the struggles that black students from low socio-economic backgrounds face in education today, particularly black women students in STEM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), and how mindfulness can play a role in changing negative thought patterns students face so they can create a more empowering story for themselves and their families.
This is part 1 of a 2-part interview. Part 2 of my interview with Marissa Ford will be in next week's episode (episode 6), so stay tuned for more!
