CAFE Insider CAFE Insider 12/21: Should DOJ Charge Trump? (with Barb McQuade)
This week on the CAFE Insider podcast, Barb McQuade guest co-hosts with Joyce Vance while Preet is on vacation. Barb served as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan from 2010 to 2017. She is now a CAFE contributor and a legal analyst for NBC News & MSNBC.
In the episode, Joyce and Barb discuss whether DOJ should bring charges against former President Donald Trump for his involvement in the January 6th insurrection at the Capitol and his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. They break down the potential charges Trump might face, and the risks associated with prosecuting a former president. Joyce and Barb also discuss Trump’s lawsuit against New York Attorney General Letitia James, which seeks to halt the attorney general’s civil investigation into the Trump Organization.
