In this weeks episode of The Podcast Bruce Babashan joins us to discuss training and boxing. Bruce cut his teeth in the weight room back in the 80’s in College Park Maryland at UMD under legendary coaches. This lead him to too building his work ethic and reputation in the boxing gym by learning from top coaches and teaching those who “needed a coach”. He has seen the evolution of both realms (boxing and S and C) from the front lines as a boxing coach, S and C coach, and a high school football coach, and really how this is a world of “have’s and have nots”. He then shares with us how he has trained fighters, and how he now selects the coaches he has work with his fighters. Coach Babashan then discusses with us the role of the strength coach in culture, and building toughness within the fighter. Bruce finishes off sharing with us the mentality of the fighter and how they build the mental aspect of the fight game.
