In this episode of the Parker's Pensées Podcast, I'm joined by two returning guests, Dr. Michael Huemer and PhD candidate, Nate Lauffer, to discuss Dr. Huemer's "Serious Theories and Skeptical Theories: Why You Are Probably Not a Brain in a Vat" (Philosophical Studies 173 (2016) 1031-52).
We cover Dr. Huemer's refutations of different conceptions of the brain-in-a-vat and then apply the same arguments to Nick Bostrom's Simulation Argument and the Simulation Hypothesis therein.
