Schedule E: A Platform for College Coaches
Schedule E is a platform co-founded by Ann Murray and her daughter Alexa that helps college coaches create and manage game schedules. The idea came from Alexa, a college athlete herself, who recognized the frustrations coaches face with scheduling through email, text messages, and phone calls. Schedule E was launched in November 2020 after conducting research and identifying the pain point for many coaches. The platform has since evolved and gained feedback from coaches, leading to improvements and partnerships with coaches who now use Schedule E for their scheduling needs.
Hands-On Experience in Engineering and Entrepreneurship
Ann and Alexa both bring engineering expertise to Schedule E. Ann's background in the music industry involved building a global repertoire database, where she acted as a product manager and worked closely with engineers and users. Alexa, on the other hand, has experience as a systems engineer and product management in the FinTech industry. Both their skill sets complement each other and contribute to Schedule E's success.
Journey from Idea to Minimal Viable Product
Schedule E's journey started with Alexa's participation in an engineering entrepreneurship class in early 2020, where she developed the idea for Schedule E. With Ann's guidance and support, they worked through the incubator-style class, refining their product and pitching their idea. After launching in November 2020, they received feedback from coaches and made necessary improvements to the software. The platform has solved a significant pain point for coaches in terms of scheduling efficiency, leading to partnerships and a growing user base.
