Synopsis: This is a special episode of The Straits Times' video series The Big Story, hosted by Hairianto Diman and Olivia Quay.

Phase 3 (heightened alert) will be carried out in two stages with the first stage of easing starting from next Monday, June 14. If the situation remains under control in the coming weeks, a further reopening will take place from June 21.

Infectious diseases specialist Dr Leong Hoe Nam from the Rophi Clinic at Mount Elizabeth Novena, weighs in on this approach of gradually lifting restrictions.
