Robert Fosbury is an emeritus astronomer at the European Southern Observatory and an honorary professor at the Institute of Ophthalmology at University College London (UCL). He is an integral part within the Institute of Ophthalmology at UCL with his unique perspective on light and its interactions with the earth’s atmosphere. His work with Professor Glen Jeffrey have paved the way for a new understanding of light, particularly in the NIR range, interacts with the body. His physics background has proved to be indispensable in understanding sunlight and how biological systems have evolved to use it.
