In this weeks My Thoughts Monday I share a few take homes from Nate Brookreson's KILLER talk from The 2019 Seminar. Nate shared with us a case study in return to play with a student athlete, and his talk had a huge plot twist in the end, but there are a few huge take homes from his talk. The first of which is, as Dan John said, "keep the plan the plan," but be ready to deviate and make alterations. The second is that your metrics need to matter, and when you take them to drive decisions you need to keep taking them, whether you think they’re going to tell you what you want them to or not. My final take away was that it’s not about you, so stay humble and know that we can all be better. Our job is about the athletes, and the field is bigger than each of us so kudos to Nate for being so open and bringing a fantastic talk!
