The often-bumpy journey to enlightenment, joy and living in our dharma.

In episode four of Very Vedic, Matt’s student Anna asks about the relevance of joy from the Vedic view, which opened up an interesting discussion about the often bumpy and sometimes traumatic path to enlightenment.

Matt reveals that as we begin our spiritual journeys, or even if we’re decades in, it is common to feel like our state of mind isn’t matched to our elevated state of consciousness.

He explains that if someone is experiencing a darker state of mind as they progress spiritually, then karmically, that is what is most relevant for that individual to evolve.

Matt and Anna also discuss the Vedic concept of dharma — which loosely translates to purpose. He provides insight into how we can discover our dharma and live a more joyful, useful and fulfilling life.

This episode stands for the light and shade of our spiritual journeys, and seeks to close the gap between mental health and enlightenment.
