Even when she was told to drop the case by a powerful US law firm, her determination to challenge the status quo and right a wrong, drove her to persist and win a settlement of $333million for more than 600 residents. It was the largest direct action lawsuit in U.S. history. She went on to become a world-leading environmental activist. She tells Kate how her Dyslexic Thinking helped her uncover one of the US’s biggest health scandals and what it was like to have Julia Roberts play her in the Oscar award-winning film of her life.
